Don't Shop Angry and More Lessons from the Front Lines

Adjusting to a new job can be tricky. (Re)learnings for the day:
  1. It's hard to go from being the client to being the third-string vendor. In the first role, you're the center of attention, driving all the decisions; in the second, you're fighting just to have a seat at the table and be heard.
  2. Don't go straight to the mall from a day of meetings that have left you grumpy. Buying a lipstick with a name like "Centerfold" isn't likely to lead to anything good.
  3. If the conversation isn't going your way, sometimes it's ok to change the subject.

Whew! Tomorrow's another day.
