Wonder where civility went?
Heard on NPR: "We hit each other in this sport [politics]. It's what we do."
Indeed. Hit. Hit hard. Hit first. Hit back. Hit low. Distort. Twist. Spin. Lie. Smile. Kiss baby. Shake hands. Hug. Lie some more... the erosion of integrity continues.
And for our part, we reward and emulate this behavior. Then we wonder aloud where integrity, honesty and civility have gone.
